We were happy to welcome Professor Clare Mills from the University of Surrey, the UK, to our office on October 2.

She is a renowned scientist in the field of the food allergen research.

She kindly gave an oral presentation at our office.

US FDA Guidance update

US FDA released the Questions and Answers Regarding Food Allergens, Including the Food Allergen Labeling Requirements of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (Edition 5) in January 2025.

The guidance document describes FDA’s current thinking on topics such as:

   What foods are considerd "major food allergen"

   What are eggs

   What is milk

   What are tree nuts

   Which species of “fish” does FDA consider allergenic



The US-FDA will also hold a public meeting from November 18-20, 2025, to discuss food allergen thresholds and their potential applications.

The AOAC INTERNATIONAL Annual Meeting & Exposition was held from August 23 to 28, 2025, in San Diego, California, USA.

Many renowned scientists delivered presentations at the event.

China updated Food Allergen Labelling Regulations

China has announced the revision of the National Food Safety Standard for the Labelling of Pre-packaged Foods (GB 7718-2025) on March 16, 2025.

This standard will be implemented on March 16, 2027.


According to this standard, If any of the following food ingredients are present, they shall be declared in the list of ingredients or near the list.

   a) Cereals and products containing gluten (such as wheat, rye, barley, oats,

     spelt wheat, or their hybrid products)

   b) Crustaceans and products (such as shrimps, lobsters, crabs)

   c) Fish and products

   d) Eggs and products

   e) Peanuts and products

   f) Soybeans and products

   g) Dairy and dairy products (including lactose)

   h) Nuts and products

The Food Allergen Asia Conference will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from June 25 to 27, 2025.

Food Allergen Management Symposium (FAMS) took place

The 6th Food Allergen Management Symposium (FAMS), held from May 20 to 22, 2025, took place in the fabulous city of Sydney, Australia.

Many distinguished experts from various institutions and companies—such as FAO, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Imperial College London, McDonald’s Australia, Nestlé Oceania, and The Arnott’s Group—delivered engaging and informative presentations at the conference.

We, Morinaga BioScience, Inc., also gave a presentation at the breakfast meeting as one of the producers of food allergen test kits.

Our regional distributor, BioSys Australia Pty Ltd, based in Melbourne, also exhibited at the conference and promoted our products.
